For the entire team of Don 2, their shooting in a Malaysian Jail is an experience that no one will forget, till date. Even thinking about it today gives them shivers.

It was Farhan Akhtar’s idea to shoot in the Malaysian Jail. He was very keen as a director to shoot the film in a real international jail as it would be more authentic and gripping visually. While shooting Farhan Akhtar was skeptical to shoot but was stunned at the strange and eerie silence of the place.
Don 2 is the first one to be shot in Malacca prison, and a complete section of the prison block was made available for the shoot. About 700 prisoners were air-lifted and moved to another cell to accommodate the filming.
Priyanka Chopra was the most worried to shoot at the jail as the myth of the place is that every one of the prisoners is capable of hypnotizing. So all crew was very worried and kept discussing that over and over again.
Admits Priyanka Chopra, I've never been to a fully functioning prison before so filming for Don 2 in the Prison. In Malacca was very exciting yet somewhat spooky! The fact that it was a fully functioning prison with real live criminals inside just added a lot of authenticity to the scenes that we shot. There were a lot of rules that we had to follow while shooting inside the prison. Even though we never came in contact with the inmates, our movements inside the prison were restricted so in a sense it was like being locked up! I really wanted to meet some the inmates because I wanted to test the theory that they could hypnotise you if you made eye contact. Since I play a cop in the film, I didn't have to wear the uniform but Shah Rukh and Boman sir did and they looked really cool... I loved the bright Orange colour of the uniform! All in all, it was a memorable experience!
